The American Business Awards, also called The Stevie Awards, were created in 2002 to honor the achievements and contributions of organizations and business people worldwide. According to the American Business Awards website, the name “Stevie” is derived from Stephen, which is Greek for “crowned.” The Stevie is about 16 inches tall and is hard-cast and finished in 24-carat gold. The crystal pyramid Stevie stands on represents the hierarchy of human needs, a system typically represented as a pyramid that was developed in the 1960s by psychologist Abraham Maslow. Maslow observed that after a human’s basic needs are met, they seek the esteem of their peers.
We’ll find out if we win at the award banquet in New York City on June 20! Wish us luck!
