Leisure travel continues with strong demand as the summer takes off
Hospitality continues to experience a strong rebound in leisure demand, which dominates travel as the summer begins. Meetings and events decreased slightly at -4.9% compared to the prior week.
The average number of attendees for the week was 79 people, while the average square footage used was 1,768 per event and people/square foot of meeting space was 22.
The corporate market segment represented 59.7% of overall business for the week. National Association, Technology, Education, Financial/Banking and Healthcare were the top industry segments again this week.
Markets with the highest week over week variance for number of meetings were Boston, St. Louis, Cleveland, Portland and Omaha.
