Corporate meetings roar back as events increase overall 188% over last week
For the week ending December 2, 2023, the number of U.S. meetings and events increased 188.2% as companies come back after the Thanksgiving holiday and begin planning for 2024. Corporate events share volume roared back to its regular levels at 66%, with Education driving the dominant industry share at 27.4% for the week, followed by the National Association segment at 21.8%, for the top five segments.
The average number of attendees for the week was 77 (compared to 81 for the previous week), while the average square footage used was 1,728 per event (compared to 1,611 for the previous week), and square feet used per person was 22.
The top five segments for the week were: Education, National Association, Healthcare, Charity/Non-Profit/Social Services and Technology.
