July 4th holiday puts a damper on corporate events this week
For the week ending July 6, 2024, the growth of U.S. meetings and events was down compared to the previous week as expected due to the July 4th holiday. Corporate events share volume was down significantly from 63.1% to 45.7%+, with National Association and Religious segments leading growth with 26.2% and 24.4% share respectively, for the top five segments.
The average number of attendees for the week was 88, while the average square footage used was 2,068 per event, and square feet used per person was 24.
The top five segments for the week were: National Association, Religious, Social – Sports, Travel, and Charity/No-Profit/Social Services.
